If you are a first time license, you are not required to fulfill the continuing education requirement for the first license renewal. You will have to fulfill the requirement in subsequent triennium licensing periods. Courses approved by the NASW Hawai'i Chapter receive an approval number which is required to be listed listed on an events publicity and on the letter certifying your attendance:
Other approving bodies may have similar requirements. When in doubt, ask the organization hosting the continuing education event if they have been approved to provide social work continuing education contact hours. An important note: If an event/course/workshop has not been approved by one of the approving bodies, it will not count towards the required forty-five credit hours of continuing education. Remember, during each licensing triennium, complete forty-five (45) credit hours of continuing education courses, which have been approved by one of the designated approving bodies, before the renewal date. At minimum, three (3) credit hours must be in ethic courses. Your CEs must be earned within the current licensing period (July 1, 2019-June 29, 2022) |
